Financial Aid for Trade School Students

You may have more options to help pay for trade school than you realize. Berk Trade School participates in federal and other financial aid programs for those who qualify, and our financial aid team will explain your options and answer your questions step by step.

Funding Your Trade Education

At Berk Trade School, we understand that financial aid can feel confusing, especially if this is your first time applying for school funding. That is why our team works one-on-one with prospective students to explain the process, review eligibility, and help identify the programs that may apply to your situation.

For eligible students, financial aid may include a combination of grants, student loans, veterans’ education benefits, or vocational rehabilitation funding. The exact mix depends on your eligibility, financial circumstances, and program of study.

Types of Financial Aid Berk Students May Use

Federal Student Loans

Federal subsidized and unsubsidized loans are available to eligible students. Loan funds can be used to cover tuition and related costs.

Federal Pell Grant

Need-based grant funding that does not need to be repaid. Eligible students may receive Pell Grant funding to help reduce their tuition costs.

Veterans' Benefits

Berk is approved for veterans' education benefits. Eligible veterans and service members can use their benefits to fund their training.

ACCES-VR

Adult Career and Continuing Education Services — Vocational Rehabilitation funding for eligible students with disabilities who are seeking vocational training.

Who Is Eligible for Financial Aid?

Federal student aid may be available to Berk Trade and Business School students who meet the basic federal eligibility requirements. Financial aid can include grants and student loans. In general, grants are based on financial need, while federal student loans are available to eligible students who meet all program requirements, regardless of individual financial circumstances.

Financial Aid — Common Questions

It depends on the type. Pell Grants and most other grant funding do not need to be repaid. Federal student loans do need to be repaid after your program ends. Our admissions team will help you understand the difference and which options apply to you.

Before completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), we encourage you to visit Berk and meet with one of our financial aid counselors. They can guide you through the application step-by-step, help you understand what information you’ll need, and ensure your FAFSA is completed accurately. You can then submit your FAFSA at studentaid.gov to determine your eligibility for federal aid programs, including Pell Grants and federal student loans. After submission, our team will continue to support you through the next steps in the enrollment process.
